Surviving E.Coli and Shingles..

DONT EAT SALAD. Unless you clean it with bleach water yourself! 😳 Trust me when I say, it’s absolutely not worth it! Not worth the domino effect it had on my body. Not worth the mental toll it took. It’s tough when your body can’t hold anything in, going to the bathroom every FIFTEEN MINUTES, and you’re starving for nutrition. Imagine having a vicious stomach bug, and then times it by 100.

“Normal” Food poisoning is tough stuff. But E Coli about took me out. Over the course of my 34 years, I’ve had the stomach bug, stomach viruses, Covid, flu, mono, bronchitis, ect. But This one wins the race 😂 E Coli is BRUTAL…

I didn’t realize how you should clean the romaine lettuce to make sure the bacteria is off (bleach water or vinegar & baking soda), but the price I paid and the extent of what it did to my body and mind, I don’t think I’ll ever eat romaine lettuce again! 😂🤢💩 One tasty salad was not worth 7 days of deathly symptoms. And if you’ve ever read up on E. coli it can stick around and cause you to have an upset gut for a while. Furthermore, because of the intensity my body went through & my weakened immune system, the shingles that lives in my body decided it was time to thrive. 🤔 I’m surprised by how uneducated people are about it. A lot didn’t know it can resurface, but it totally can. Shingles effects only one side of your body, sometimes focusing on one part, but occasionally the nerve pain can be more than one part on the specific side. Shingles Nerve Pain is kinda like the aura of the migraine to me. I have had shingles resurface multiple times since i was 15. No fun, right? You can have the nerve pain without the rash. The nerve pain is a B.

Ever had a moment where you feel like you’re living Jobs life in the Bible? Sounds like I’m throwing myself a pity party. And maybe I did at some point during this process. 😂 It was a rough 7+ days.

With a lot of prayer, support of family & friends, and antivirals for the shingles, I made it. It’s “funny” how different the feelings are that my brain with having a major illness and doing it in my own than it did when I was with my late husband.

I made it. Barely. But I made it 🤗

I could hear my late husband saying “ See that’s why I don’t eat thy stuff. Junk food wouldn’t have done that to me!”
